Do you ever feel like you need to overhaul your entire wardrobe for a trip?
I definitely have.
I’m the type of person who has bought new clothes for a holiday without consideration to how they will fit my wardrobe.
The type of person who felt so overwhelmed and hopeless with what I owned that I looked to rigid rules or a capsule wardrobe to make it simpler.
A couple of weeks ago I went to Lake Kawaguchi for a short trip. Miraculously, I didn’t feel pressed to buy new clothes.
Maybe it was because I’ve already done a no-buy (no new clothes) for two and a half years so I was used to having an imperfect wardrobe.
Or because I’ve been feeling more content overall with my wardrobe.
I’ve been thinking about why we feel we need new travel wardrobes, why we should stick with what we own and contrarily, why travelling might just give us the insight we need into our next purchase.
